This lovely little annexe to Riverside Party House sits alongside the river Severn and has fantastic views across it. It is perfectly situated to see the famous ‘Severn Bore’, you can check out the tide times here. It is the ideal place for a midweek holiday break for a couple or a small family.

Things to do during your midweek holiday break

There’s lots to do nearby, Cheltenham is only 12 miles away. It is home to the famous Cheltenham Festival and the race course with the Gold Cup which takes place annually during March, and there are plenty of events happening here all year round.

Greenacres Stables Riding Centre offers fantastic hacking and trekking through the Forest of Dean with two treks going every weekend, or you can book your own private trek for another time if you wish. They do walk-trot or walk-trot-canter rides for one and a half or two hours, and the local pub is highly recommended upon your return! There are also shorter rides around the nearby country lanes which can be led in-hand for younger or less experienced riders.

The Cotswold Water Park is an area of 40 square miles, with more than 150 lakes, set across the countryside of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire, there is something for everyone – from angling to archery, water sports to walking, bird watching to biking, to name just a few things you can do around here.

Go Ape Treetops Adventure is the original Go Ape experience. You’ll be briefed for a bit of safety before you fly down zip-wires, leap off the Tarzan Swing and enjoy obstacles in some of Britain’s most breathtaking scenery. Forest Segway is a newer Go Ape experience; back on the forest floor you will get some instruction and advice before heading out onto their trails on a rugged all-terrain Segway.

The Gloucester Quays with its famous outlet centre offers plenty of opportunity to shop. There is also a regular itinerary of events ranging from Food Festivals to VIP Nights. You’ll find lots to do at The Quays which is only five miles away.
